Yuzvendra Chahal, who took just two wickets in Punjab Kings’ opening five Indian Premier League 2025 matches, did make an impact by taking four wickets on Tuesday.
Chahal’s bowling army at home was defending a small target of 112 runs as the batting lineup of Punjab failed massively.
Prabhasimran Singh’s 30 and Priyansh Arya’s 22 did help Shreyas Iyer’s side, but not getting support from others did not work.
Harshit Rana made a sound impact by taking three wickets. Yet again! Spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy took two wickets each.
When Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 37 runs, KKR’s victory seemed near. But others were not able to add runs when needed.
Yuzvendra Chahal took four wickets; Ajinkya Rahane, Rinku Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ramandeep Singh, and led Punjab to win the match by 12 runs.
It has placed them fourth in the IPL table, with eight points after six games.
However, this was KKR’s fourth defeat after seven games. They are sixth in the IPL 2025 table.
