Virat Kohli scored 70 runs off 42 balls as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated the Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs.
Kohli’s 70 became productive as Devadatt Padikkal had a blast, scoring 50 runs in 27 deliveries. Phil Salt, Virat Kohli’s opening partner, added 26 runs in 23 balls.
The overall support of the RCB batting order made them score 205/5 in 20 overs.
Sandeep Sharma took two wickets against RCB, but gave away 45 runs in four overs. Other than Sandeep, it was a poor show by the RR bowlers.
Yashasvi Jaiswal took 19 balls to score 49 runs. However, the young Indian batsman could not score 90 or 100-plus runs from the set position.
Other than Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel scored 47 runs. But others did not contribute well with the bat, to the level where they fell short of 11 to 12 runs.
RCB’s leading fast bowler Josh Hazlewood clinched four wickets, playing the biggest role in defending this total.
Six wins, 12 points, and three losses have placed RCB third in the IPL table. For RR, it was the seventh defeat in nine games in the IPL 2025.
