Vaibhav Suryavanshi blasted a super-quick century, scoring 101 in 38 balls as the Rajasthan Royals beat the Gujarat Titans by eight wickets.
At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, on Monday, the home side won the toss and picked to bowl first. Yet again the bowlers of RR did deliver the best touch overall as they took just four wickets and and gave away 209 runs.
GT captain Shubman Gill contributed a quick 84 runs in 50 balls. Gill’s 84 did get complement from Sai Sudharsan’s 39 and Jos Buttler unbeaten 50 runs.
The contribution of these three players were ample enough to make it work for the away side.
As RR have a poor IPL 2025, a target of 210 runs looked huge. But the opening partnership of RR did make things done in favour of Sanju Samson’s side.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 70 off 40 runs and Suryavanshi’s 101 in 38 balls made sure that the opening pair only was ample to win the game.
Riyan Parag did also help with a quick and unbeaten 32-run knock in 15 balls, leading RR to win the game in just 15.5 overs.
This was Gujarat’s third defeat of the season, having won six already. But for RR, the victory was their third in 10 matches.
