Jaime Vardy will end his association as a player with Leicester City after the end of this season. Vardy made the massive decision on Thursday.
Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, who is the Leicester City Chairman, said: “Jamie is unique.”
“He is a special player and an even more special person. He holds a place in the hearts of everyone connected to Leicester City, and he certainly has my deepest respect and affection.
“On behalf of everyone at Leicester City, I wish Jamie and his family the very best for the future and I know our supporters will join us in giving him the send-off he deserves at the end of this season.”
Vardy has scored 143 goals and 47 assists in 338 appearances in the English top-flight. In the 2015-16 season, the former England striker played a major role in making the Foxes win the historic PL title. In that title-winning season, he scored 24 goals in the PL.
Vardy had the chance to move to major English and European clubs, but decided to stay and serve at Leicester.
From 2015 to 2018, Vardy represented the Three Lions 26 times and scored seven goals.
The 38-year-old striker decided to part ways with his beloved club after the Foxes were unable to keep up in the top-flight division.
Vardy is Leicester’s greatest ever goalscorer in the Premier League.
