Sandro Tonali is one of the reported transfer targets of Barcelona, as per Mundo Deportivo.
Tonali joined Newcastle United in 2023 from AC Milan. The Magpies paid €70 million (reportedly) to sign the midfielder.
The Italian international played just eight games for Newcastle last season due to injuries. In the ongoing 2024-25 season, Tonali has made 26 apps for Eddie Howe’s side and has scored one goal.
The central midfielder is known more for his defensive work than attacking. Tonali recently helped Newcastle United win the EFL Cup title, where they beat Liverpool 2-0.
He came from the youth ranks of Brescia in 2017, a year when Tonali made his professional debut.
In the 2020-21 season, Tonali made his first appearance for AC Milan when he joined them on a season-long loan and then made his move permanent in 2021.
Barcelona are doing well in La Liga, but they have not done well in the Champions League in the past few years. It will be great to see what is the next move for Tonali and how it works out in case the Magpies wish to sell him.
