Mohammed Shami, who is leading India’s bowling attack at the 2025 Champions Trophy feels that playing all the games in Dubai is helping them in a way.
India are about to face New Zealand in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy final on Sunday. Due to long-standing geo-political issues, India did not go to Pakistan to play the very event. Hence, all of India’s games pushed to Dubai.
Despite the United Arab Emirates, three stadiums of cricket are famous with a good amount of history.
On social media and sports shows, many of the fans and experts were saying that Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Abu Dhabi) and Sharjah Cricket Stadium (Sharjah) should have used for India.
But Shami is the first one from India to say that not travelling to different cities helps Rohit Sharma’s side a lot.
Shami said: “It is certainly helping us. We know the conditions and the behaviour of the pitch.”
However, captain Rohit Sharma thinks otherwise. He feels that it’s not much of a difference.
Rohit’s take: “This is not our home, this is Dubai. So, we don’t play so many matches here. This is new for us too.”
India have four games of experience in Dubai, meanwhile, New Zealand’s only game was last week against India.
The final set to take place this Sunday.
