As per CaughtOffside, Liverpool and Arsenal will go head-to-head for signing Malick Fofana.
The 19-year-old winger plays for Ligue 1 club Lyon. He is being called one of the best young players in the world.
Fofana made his debut for Lyon in 2024. However, his professional debut came in 2022 for Jong Gent. Last year, Fofana made senior debut for Belgium.
In the 2024-25 season, Fofana has scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.
The Belgium international will cost Arsenal and Liverpool around €50m. His current deal with Lyon end in the summer of 2028.
Premier League 24/25 leaders Liverpool are expecting a lot of departures from the club this summer, and second-placed Arsenal are looking to add players to make it closer to winning the Premier League title.
For both of these sides, a player like Fofana matters a lot.
