The Delhi Capitals have kept their unbeaten run alive as Axar Patel’s side outdid Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets at the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium on Thursday (10 April).
This was Delhi’s fifth straight victory. Meanwhile Bengaluru lost their second game of the season, having won three.
The toss went in favour of Delhi, who got a small target of 164 runs, after winning the toss and picking to bowl first.
Phil Salt added 37 and his opening partner Virat Kohli scored 22 runs. Not just Salt and Kohli, but RCB captain Rajat Patidar lost the wicket from a set position after adding just 25 runs in 23 deliveries.
As the RCB middle-order collapsed like the house of cards, Tim David’s 37 in 20 balls did not make much difference. RCB scored 163/7 in 20 overs.
As Delhi’s top-order failed, it seemed the game was on. Faf du Plessis scored just two runs, with Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel (IP) adding seven each.
KL Rahul led the team well, with an unbeaten 93 runs in just 53 balls. KL first made things calm with Axar Patel, who added valuable 17 runs.
And then finished things in style with Tristan Stubbs, who added 38 not out in 23 balls.
