Gujarat Titans have kept their overall good form alive in the Indian Premier League 2025.
Registering their third win of the season, Gujarat outdid Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad on Sunday.
Shubman Gill’s side won the toss and picked to field first. The decision worked well for GT as they restricted Hyderabad to score 152 for six wickets in 20 overs.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, with 31 runs, was the highest scorer for SRH. Mohammad Siraj, who did shine against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (last Wednesday), took four wickets against SRH.
Siraj did get support from Prasidh Krishna and Ravishrinivasan Sai Kishore, taking two wickets apiece.
In-form Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler were not able to shine. Sai added just five runs and Buttler scored a duck.
However, GT captain Shubman Gill led and scored an unbeaten match-winning fifty (61 runs) to make the away side collect another two crucial points. He did get the backing from Washington Sundar, who played a knock of 49 runs.
Gill finished the game with impact player Sherfane Rutherford, who blasted 35 runs in 16 deliveries.
As the target of 153 runs was not too big, GT now have an overall better position this season. However, SRH have now lost four of their first five matches, winning just one and sitting at the bottom of the table.
