Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Faf du Plessis takes charge as the vice-captain of the Delhi Capitals ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League season.
The DC did make his update clear via their socials on Monday. Du Plessis is a veteran IPL batsman, who has scored 4,571 runs in 145 matches.
Last week, the Delhi Capitals made Axar Patel their captain for the IPL 2025. It would be the first time Patel leading any IPL team.
As the RCB did release Faf du Plessis ahead of the mega auction, the DC did make a move to get him for INR 2 cr.
He had previously played for the Chennai Super Kings and Rising Pune Supergiant too in the IPL.
The Delhi Capitals, in IPL’s history, has never won the title.
Faf did express his views on getting the new leadership role (social media)
The IPL 2025 begins this Saturday. Meanwhile, the DC will play their opening game on Monday versus the Lucknow Super Giants at home.
