Manchester United might make a shock move by approaching Aston Villa manager Unai Emery to replace Ruben Amorim, as per the reports by Fichajes.
Amorim took charge of Man United in November 2024. The former Sporting manager is finding it hard to get a good run at Old Trafford, with many of the fans feeling that he is not fit for the job.
Aston Villa, under Unai Emery, have reached good levels. The 10th-placed Villa have collated 42 points in 28 PL games in the 2024-25 season.
Amorim’s ability to not find the right places for star players like Alejandro Garnacho and others has created problems as his actions are not making the club win games with consistency.
In the 2023-24 season, Emery played a mega role to make Villa reach the Champions League by finishing fourth. Plus Emery’s signings at Aston Villa have created positive vibes.
Winning the Europa League might help Amorim to save his job. But this is not a given as they keep on losing the game.
Last Sunday, Man United lost to Fulham 4-3 on penalties in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
