Axar Patel’s Delhi Capitals have beaten Chennai Super Kings by 25 runs at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in the Indian Premier League 2025.
DC, after winning the toss and picking to bat first, put a total of 183/6 in 20 overs. Experienced batsman K.L. Rahul added a crucial 77 runs in 51 deliveries.
He did get backing from Abishek Porel’s 33 runs and Tristan Stubbs adding an unbeaten 24 in 12 balls.
Even captain Patel scored 21 runs to make sure the home side got a decent target to chase.
Opener Rachin Ravindra, who was a key player for CSK in this chase, scored just three runs only.
Even Ruturaj Gaekwad flopped again, adding just five runs. Ravindra’s opening partner Devon Conway also lost the wicket early, contributing just 13 runs.
Vijay Shankar stayed not out at one end, taking 54 to add 69 runs. He was not able to smash a faster rate as Shivam Dubey’s 18 runs and Ravindra Jadeja’s 2 broke the team to the core.
The fans expected MS Dhoni to turn the tables, but he took 26 balls to add 30 runs (not out).
This was one of the key reasons that made CSK lose three of their first four matches.
Delhi are unbeaten, with six points in three games in the 2025 IPL.
