Shubman Gill played one of the most memorable knocks of his professional cricket career as the Gujarat Titans beat the Kolkata Knight Riders by 39 runs at the Eden Gardens in the Indian Premier League on Sunday.
Gill looked sharp from the very minute, directing to add 90 runs in just 55 balls. GT opener Sai Sudarshan kept his good form alive, scoring 52 runs in 36 deliveries.
In-form Jos Buttler made a mega impact, adding crucial 41 runs. It helped the Gujarat Titans give a massive target of 199 to KKR.
Unlike the KKR bowlers, Gujarat performed well while fielding, too.
Rashid Khan and Prasidh Krishna took two wickets each during crucial moments, breaking the back of Gujarat to the core.
Ajinkya Rahane’s 50 off 36 balls gave the home side a bit of hope. However, the KKR captain did not get help from other batsmen.
As a result, KKR were able to score 159 runs at the cost of eight wickets in 20 overs.
Winning the 6th IPL match, GT have 12 points after eight outings (leaders).
KKR are seventh in the IPL 2025. The three-time IPL winners have collated six points after eight games, losing five.
