The Punjab Kings collated two more points, winning the rain-impacted match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by five wickets at the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium on Friday.
As the rain did impact the game, the match was cut down to 14 overs for each team to bat.
Punjab, who won the toss and picked to field first, took nine wickets of RCB and let them score 95 runs in 14 overs.
Had Tim David not blasted 50 runs unbeaten in 26 balls, RCB would not have even scored 95 runs. Other than David, RCB batters were not able to shine.
The Punjab Kings bowlers worked well, thanks to Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Harpreet Brar took two wickets each and broke RCB to the core.
Chasing the 96 total, the Punjab batsmen were able to make a decent impact.
Nehal Wadhera’s unbeaten 33 runs off 19 balls made sure that the away side won the game by five wickets.
Punjab are second in the IPL 2025 table, collecting 10 points from seven matches (two losses).
RCB are holding the fourth spot, with three wins and four losses after seven games.
