Tamim Iqbal, who is one of the finest Bangladesh crickets ever, faces a heart attack while playing in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match. The incident took place at Savar on Monday (24 March).
He was representing Mohammedan Sporting Club against Mohammedan Sporting Club against Shinepukur Cricket Club in the DPL.
While he was on the field, the 36-year-old batsman felt pain in his chest as a result he was taken to the hospital.
BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury confirmed this news and said: “He complained of having chest pain and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was checked and underwent an ECG.”
Debashish did provide more details too.
He added: “In the first blood test, there was a problem. He said he was feeling uncomfortable and wanted to go back to Dhaka. An ambulance was called in and when he was returning to the field from the hospital, he felt a pain in his chest again. He was then brought to the hospital for the second time and it seemed he had a massive heart attack. Now he is under observation at Fazilatunnesa Hospital”
The latest reports say that Tamim is having an operation. There will be a ring placed in his heart.
